Emmy Wesdorp
PhD student
Emmy is a PhD student in the group since February 2020. She holds a bachelor’s in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and continued to work in the scientific field after finishing her masters Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences at the Utrecht University. Emmy’s ambition is to contribute to the understanding of complex diseases and the transition towards clinical application; her PhD is based on the following two projects 1) on the detection of microbial cell-free DNA in liquid biopsies and 2) on treatment benefit prediction in cancer using gene expression/SNP data, exploring new machine- and deep learning tools.
