Huub van der Ent

PhD Student

Huub completed his master’s degree in Computer Science at the Delft University of Technology, focusing on artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. During his master's internship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, he studied drug combination therapy resistance in KRAS mutant cancers. Specifically, he modeled single-cell temporal gene expression by applying Bayesian inference to ordinary differential equations (ODEs). This experience in cancer research inspired him to pursue a PhD in the field. At the de Ridder lab, he will focus on applying machine learning methods to improve the pre-operative diagnosis of CNS tumor subtypes based on cell-free DNA (cfDNA).
